I installed Windows 10 Anniversary update, and it’s awesome | Here is what I think
Microsoft started rolling out Windows 10 anniversary update to existing Windows 10 users on August 2. I just grabbed my copy of update and installed it. It took me 4 hours to completely update my Dell-3543. It took me 1 hour to download the update which was nearly 2.88GB in size, and additional is the installation and setup time. I am triumphal with the anniversary update. The update brought a lot of impressive features and bug fixes which many people like me have been waiting. To see what’s new in Windows 10 Anniversary update you should see my recent article on that from the link below. Here is how you can get Windows 10 anniversary update without a jumble.
How to Get Windows 10 anniversary update easily?
To Get Windows 10 anniversary updatejust follow these steps. Click the Start button then click Settings > System > About. Check your version of Windows. If it is Version 10.0 (Build 10240) or Version 1511 (OS Build 10565), then you are eligible for Windows 10 anniversary update. If it is showing Version 1607 (OS Build 14393), then you already have the latest version.
Now I will make it incredibly easy for you to get Anniversary update without a headache. You don’t need to upgrade to any other version of Windows to update to Anniversary version. Just make sure you have Version 10.0 (Build 10240) or Version 1511 (OS Build 10565). Now go to your Settings > Updates and click Learn More there. The link will open in the browser, and you will see the page saying “Get anniversary update now.” Click on that link and it will download a Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant tool to your Windows 10 device. This tool will download Windows 10 anniversary update files and will help you in automatic update easily. The link is also below.
Please make sure that your internet speed is pretty decent and you are not on a Metered connection. The download size is nearly 3GB so get ready for it. Download time depends on your internet speed. It took me 1:30 hours to complete download on 3Mbps to 4Mbps speed. I was also surfing the internet while downloading 🙂
After the download completes, it will ask you to save your work and restart your PC to install the update. Do what it says and reboot the PC. Here comes Microsoft’s dumb algorithm which will show you download percentage in a strange way. It jumps from 21% to 41% and from 54% to 74% after working for a long time. I don’t know why Microsoft do this but this is crazy. After the upgrade completes, you have to setup your PC for new settings. I would suggest you to disconnect the internet for the speedy startup because Windows will download other updates in the background and will show you a waiting screen (you can download updates later). That’s it 🙂 Now you have latest and greatest version of Windows 10 since the original release. You can get Windows 10 anniversary update anytime.
In my opinion Windows, 10 anniversary update is great. You must get Windows 10 anniversary update. There are still some minor bugs but i hope they will be fixed soon. It’s a polished version of the early version of Windows 10. It has almost everything what we want in an Operating System. You might feel some jerks after the upgrade, just wait for some time (hours). The more you use it the more it will become smooth.
The Lock screen is different, Cortana is more intelligent, Microsoft Edge has extensions, Action Center is redesigned, Windows defender is more secure and settings App is revamped.
